26forCaleb is a "Movement" which started soon after my little brother Caleb passed away on January 3rd, 2018 unexpectedly in a car accident. One week after he passed I was scheduled to run the Chevron Houston Marathon (26 miles). However, due to the emotional and physical toll of losing my brother, I decided to defer my entry until 2019. Instead of running my 26 miles- I asked that 26 random individuals complete an Act of Kindness in my brothers honor. Since then- the number has surpassed 26, I ran the Chevron Houston Marathon, and friends and family across the U.S. have continued completing Acts of Kindness. You can view and share your own Act of Kindness using the hashtag #26forCaleb. Please make sure all posts are public and feel free to tag our family on any posts as well!
In addition to the #26forCaleb. I have also decided to include public speaking in sharing the story with local high schools/middle schools and other community events while sharing the dangers of driving under the influence, texting and driving, speeding, etc. I also discuss how to treat others, peer pressure, and overall healthy decision making as a young adult.
The Caleb Tripp Thornton Memorial Scholarship is also available in the amount of $2600.00 to all Humble ISD students with hopes to expand to other districts across the great state of Texas. Students will be able to apply and be eligible by maintaining a 3.0 GPA, completing an essay on how they have been active in the community/the impact it has had on them, as well as a completing 100+ hours of community service for the school year.

I firmly believe that sometimes the best way to heal is to help. Every year around Caleb's birthday, we will host a 5k run in his honor with all funds continuing to go back to the scholarship and fund any Acts of Kindness, Public Speaking Costs (if future travel is involved)
Educating Young Adults on Decision Making, Driving Under the Influence, Speeding, Texting and Driving, etc.
I had a dream Caleb told me he would be at the Sea of Galilee. Oddly enough a few days later- my mom was scheduled to be in Israel. The crazy part? I heard a pounding at my door moments before I had fallen back asleep. At first i thought i should call 911, but instead the next morning i felt compelled to look up "The Significance of the Sea of Galilee"...You will never guess what verse popped up. Isaiah 9:1
I called my mom and she decided to take Caleb's ashes exactly where he told me he would be
